"The termite inspection was useless! The inspector gave us a clean report and it turned out that the house had a lot of damage. We ended up paying for another (Termite) report. Now we are wondering how the rest of the house was inspected".
We find that most complaints about our inspection arise from a lack of understanding about what the limitations of a home inspection are, as was the case here. A home inspection is always limited to a VISUAL ONLY inspection and by virtue of how each home is constructed every structure will have areas that are not possible to view at the time of the inspection. That is why we are very careful to explain BEFOREHAND what those limitations are. Upon investigation it turned out that the “ Lot of damage” spoken of in the letter above was limited to about 3-4 feet of damaged sill plate in an area not accessible to us at the time of the inspection (about $150.00 worth). And as for as the rest of that home? Well, this inspection was performed 2001 and no additional complaints have ever arisen. Its not that we never get it wrong or make a mistake either but we do take pride in our customer service as well as in our work. That is why…..
